Invest in a Greener Future

Bohlke International Aviation is headquartered in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – a place people visit for its pristine beaches, turquoise waters, incredible snorkeling and scuba diving, rich history, and beautiful landscapes. We are blessed to live in paradise and we’d like to contribute to protecting the global environment for future generations.

Carbon offsetting is one way to reduce the carbon footprint of private aviation by investing in projects that reduce carbon emissions that are equivalent to what is produced by a flight.

Effective on Earth Day (April 22) 2023, Bohlke is offering a Voluntary Carbon Offset Program through our fuel provider, Avfuel. Charter customers have the option to add the cost of carbon offsets to their booking and Bohlke will share the cost 50/50. A small per gallon fee will be added to the charter price and used to invest in certified green projects.

One carbon credit offsets approximately 100 gallons of jet fuel. Avfuel uses an industry standard formula to calculate emissions. Carbon offsets through this program fund forestry, wind power, solar power, surf and biomass projects. All projects meet the strict requirements of either the United Nations or the Gold Standard to ensure full levels of due diligence and compliance. This means your carbon credit investment is certified to be genuine and ultimately feeds directly into the environmental project. Learn more about Avfuel’s Carbon Offset Program.

Bohlke is proud to lead the way toward sustainability in aviation in the Caribbean. We started in 2022 by carbon offsetting our charter flights on Earth Day and will launch our Voluntary Carbon Offset Program by purchasing carbon credits for our charter fuel usage for the entire week leading up to Earth Day 2023.

GO GREEN

Here’s what to expect as you choose to carbon offset your charter flight with Bohlke.

BOOK YOUR

CHARTER

When booking your charter, please tell your charter sales representative that you’d like to carbon offset your flight. They will include half of the carbon credit fee in your quote and Bohlke will contribute the other half.

YOUR

CONTRIBUTION

Your carbon offset contribution will go into a fund that will be used to purchase carbon credits from Avfuel at the end of the month.

PURCHASING

CREDITS

At the end of each month, carbon credits are purchased using contributions from you, plus Bohlke’s portion. Together we are funding environmental projects to reduce our carbon footprint!

GREEN PROJECTS

ARE FUNDED

The world is a better place thanks to your contribution! Bohlke will publicly share the carbon credit certificate indicating which environmental project was funded that month. Optional: You can be recognized on our website and social media.

Carbon Offset Fees

Carbon offset fees will be calculated by the per hour fuel burn rate of the aircraft. For example, our Mitsubishi MU2 burns approximately 75 gallons/hour and the current price of a carbon credit is $.19/gallon. That means that carbon offsetting a one-hour flight on the MU2 will cost ~$14.25 split 50/50 between Bohlke and the customer. A small price to make a BIG difference!

Hourly Carbon Offset Rate Estimates

  • Grand Caravan: $9.12/hour
  • Gulfstream G150: $48.26/hour
  • Citation V: $34.58/hour
  • Citation VII: $47.69/hour
  • Falcon 900: $50.73/hour

Our Charter Sales team will provide the carbon offset cost based on the aircraft when they provide a quote. REQUEST A QUOTE NOW!
